Mii channel a 3D chactor of you (profile) which you can put yourself into a game like Wii sports or wario ware

Well actually, since you can download vc games and go online with the browser. The wii is somewhat online.

I've never been big on online games, especially with my dialup connection. I would much rather have split-screen multiplayer games, where all you need are extra controllers and extra people. And you don't have to deal with annoying strangers.
